The Extreme Auto Expo has been one of the biggest car show yet. Formally known as Extreme Horsepower Show, the newly branded Extreme Auto Expo is the Adelaide’s round of the Meguiar’s Super Stars, a National competition which attracts the best modified vehicles from all over Australia.

The Glen Jenning’s Batmobile was the star in this year’s show and is a technically correct replica of the 1966 built Batmobile for the 1966 TV series & autographed by Adam West (batman) and Lee Meriwether (catwoman). Body – built by Gotham Cruisers and is a first generation correct moulding and built on a 1976 Lincoln frame.

Apart from the show cars, the Zippel Cruise also rocked up to the show on Saturday afternoon with a total of over 400 cars! Only American muscle cars are on sight, which brought to the showground an American atmosphere like no other.

Visit Extreme Auto Expo for more information. Video will be coming soon.

All Japan Day 2011

All Japan Day, held annually in Adelaide was born from a crisis developing in the import motor enthusiast community. Local car shows involving Japanese imports were losing focus on what the enthusiast wants at a car show – a opportunity to admire and and talk about the sensational vehicles on display with out being distracted by gimmicks or high prices.

Autosalon car show has slowed down dramatically over the years. This is partly due to the fact that the car modifying scenes have slowed as costs for labour and parts are on the increase. Many young people now are buying brand new cars instead of imports due to the more affordable pricing as well as being more fuel efficient.

However, the show is not quite dead yet, but what I did notice though, especially in this show is that these imports are wearing some pretty fancy branded accessories. Gone are the bling bling locally made wheels, and in come the Japanese imported brands like Volks, Works, and many more. These cars also have a much “cleaner” look with no ugly airbrush paint jobs and over killing bodykits.

Crowd numbers have also shrunk but I was there for a good 6 hours to take photos and video and they are now available here.

Singapore

Singapore, is a very clean and well organised country. Singapore may be the smallest country by land size, but its economy and tourism is one of the strongest in the world. We went to Singapore for a few days after our trip to Kuala Lumpur and had a chance to visit Sentosa Island, a theme park and resorts. Well, resorts with really ugly scenery because the cargo ships is all that you can sees.

Sentosa Island is definitely a must visit place for families on tour because it will be a memorable experience especially for the young ones. Singapore’s mascot is a fish with a lion’s head, named Merlion and the icon is one of the main attractions. There is a giant Merlion in Sentosa and the original in the Merlion Park across from the Esplanade. There is plenty more to discover in Singapore, such as Clarke Quay and Boat Quay a popular night life district, Orchard Road shopping district, and also the newly opened casinos in Marina park and Sentosa.
